Rob & Big Dvd Pre-Order

I don't know what it is, but no matter how hard I complain about the skateboarding culture being bought, sold, packaged and sold out, I still like Rob & Big.

Well now you can order Rob & Big Season 1 and Season 2 on Dvd from Amazon.

Rob and Big have a cool show going, and now that the dvd is available, it's going to be my #1 reason to sleep in and enjoy the show.

Skateboarding Is Fake

I was over at the Strange Notes website and I found out that they are doing a video part where someone is doing a board slide handstand to a good landing. When I saw the pictures I thought the guy was going to break his neck.

Then I saw the worst of things...wires! That's right, wires connected to an apparatus is holding him while the skater railslides to landing.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is one thing...but this is weird. Check it out for yourself as Strange Notes Proves Skateboarding is now fake.

Vans Tour

The Vans crew maybe using Corporate Finances to sponsor their road trips, but they still give back to the diehard skateboard community as a whole. Proving that you can mix money and the sport without compromising integrity. The clip above is the team ripping it, with some reckless abandon.

I wish I could go on a skateboarding tour...instead I am at a dot come sipping coffee and pretending to be cool.

Look Who's An Element Skateboards Fan

So the guy may have some problems right about now, but the boy likes Skateboarding. Check it out, Element Skateboards hat, and a gleam in the eye. I've heard reports and seen the guy long boarding, but this is a new thing right?

Not really.

Chocolate Trucks? Give Me A Break!

I'm tired of seeing companies whore out their brand on trucks! Trucks get so torn up. This isn't artwork it's just ridiculous. I don't like the wrapping of things on my beloved trucks. I like the original silver and maybe a baseplate that's colored but that's it!

When did skateboarding get so "fashion" conscious? It's dumb.

Vans UK Youtube

The vans brand has gone global with their new Vans UK youtube channel that features a lot of good skating, and footage of the Vans corp. oversees project. I for one am a big fan of this, as Skateboarding goes global, Vans is right there to help out.

Check the video above for some awesome footage, and heck...it's better than being stuck in the cubicle like I am at the moment.

Ryan Sheckler Is Sad

The pro-skating youngster and star of his own new MTV show appeared to be sad and disappointed with the cost of his own fame. The new Sheckler trailer that is airing on mtv2 talks about how Sheck is sad that he can't bee a regular kid.

What the heck is wrong with Skateboarding today?

You DO NOT HAVE TO be pro, you do NOT have to sign away your life, you can be a kid and when you graduate high school, you're still going to be good at skateboarding, then sign. Or go to school too!

Skateboarding is taking one step back with these reality shows, if they are going to try and sell me on this campaign that Sheckler is somehow saddened by his money and success.

I for one have been skateboarding for years, and would give my left something or other to be pro...and travel and get that pressure because it's SKATEBOARDING! It's not learning javascript,xhtml, or anything like that. It's not paying back student loans or anything along those lines, it's freakin Skateboarding!

It upsets me.

I'm going to shut up now.

On a thursday, I'm tired, and skateboarding fills the void of happiness sometimes. This kid rips it harder than I could. It's nice to see youtube offering up the goods a lot better than most "video" sites.

I remember the days of 14.4 kbs and hoping to see videos of well...never mind.

Sheckler T.V Show on Mtv now

In the world of skateboarding, in the last few years, the industry that used to be anti corporate buy outs, is now all for them. This makes me a little unnerved because I grew up with the anti-nike and anti-corporate movement in skateboarding. But then again...now I'm an adult and I need to make money, to support my skating...so I'm a little more flexible.

It sucks.

Ryan Sheckler has a television show now. It's going to be on MTV just like "Rob and Big" and the cameras will follow the pro-skater around and see how hard it must be to be a great skater in todays corporate model.

Art & Skateboarding

Art and Skateboarding is something that people have sometimes ignored. I for one enjoy the artwork of skateboarding and skateboarders. I have sometimes even purchased my decks via the artwork instead of other methods. I love skateboarding art and have several decks on my wall.

Many pro skaters have their own decks on their wall, but since I'm not pro, I have to buy them and put them up. From time to time I will be highlighting the decks that I come across and that I sell in regards to "art" over function. Which might rub some people the wrong way, but it's all good.

Element's Little Guy

This little guy rips! He's got game, and although he didn't get big ups on the X-games, look at these parts.

I wish I was that good in all of my skateboard career. NJAH Huston is amazing...and I couldn't believe the skills.

I've been skating for 8 years now and I still can't land half of this guys line of tricks.

Skateboarding Business

This blog is written by someone that works at a Snowboard Company. This company frustrates me to no end sometimes. It's because I love skateboarding and want to see it continue to grow in the city and the community and prove that skateboard sales can make a company money so that they can buy more skateboarding supplies and promote it on equal levels as snowboarding.

However, every turn I get turned down. My ideas are dropped and I'm told that Skateboarding WILL NEVER make enough money to support a business.

They tell me these things and then ask for more increased sales, and when I don't comply with their demands, they get upset.

Well...I love skateboarding and some day I dream of opening up my own skateboard shop, and for those out there that love skateboarding, don't let snowboard idiots tell you that skateboards don't sell,aren't profitable, or are stupid.

Skateboarding is not something that makes us rich, but it can sustain our love and our passion for riding without compromising our integrity or selling out what we believe as a community.

I'll be posting more stuff like this as I grow more and more frustrated with a company that stocks skateboards and then says they don't sell.

Etnies Skateboarding Championships

The Etnies Company has announced that there will be world championships on the horizon and will feature some of the best in skateboarding.

By world I mean Europe. Etnies Europe riders that will be at the event include: Dominik Dietrich, Steve Forstner, Juergen Horrwarth, Charles Collet, Javier Mendizabal and Evelien Bouilliar.

Remember Gator?

Remember That old School Skater Gator? Well I noticed that he was in this awesome movie called THRASHIN! It came out in 1986 and it featured Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain, Steve Cabellero, and a lot of other old school skaters. The movie also featured a lot of skating, and it was not unlike "Gleaming the Cube" but it was definitely a cool romp through skateboarding film in the 80's.

Tomato Gold At X-Games

I couldn't believe it, I was witnessing a flawless run by Shaun White, who has never won an X-Games skateboarding contest ever...he ran through a list of tricks that were amazing. Not since Tony Hawk has someone dominated the Vert Ramp in this fashion.

The end result was Shaun White Winning the Gold at the X-Games.

The street course was dominated by none other than Zero Skateboards rider Chris Cole who just threw down trick after trick without a single notice.



Ryan Sheckler, the heavy favorite went down to fourth and Koston...well He's getting old.

Jake Brown X-Games Mega Ramp Problems

This is probably the worst fall I've seen in X-Games history. Jake Brown goes up and nails the first ever mega-ramp 720 only to fall on the other end. He falls so hard that his shoes fall off! It's a really sad moment in skateboarding, but he sure did get some air didn't he?

He's great though. I'm glad he walked out, and I hear he's going to be alright. Check the video; it's an amazing video, and unfortunate landing.

Nike Skateboarding Kreuger Edition

The frustrations are building inside me because now I'm really torn. Nike has just unveiled a shoe modeled after "Nightmare on Elm Street's" own boogeyman, Freddy Krueger. Nike SB is doing something that skate companies haven't done at all. That's crossing over from the diehards to the casual fan and appealing to tech geeks that are skateboarders on the side as well. This is a great step..even if it is somehow morally vapid at first glance.
